A character concept bust from Simon.
I was watching Simon do the flats on this beautiful bust drawing he did, and I had an overwhelming urge to finish the coloring on it, so I kicked him out of the chair, : <
We don’t usually get to collaborate on something non-comic related, so this was fun.
After he relinquished the drawing to me, he left the room and I immediately chose rich pinks for the shadows. Moments later he came back in and said “wait, I did have one thing I really wanted for this—”, and then saw what I had done and said “yeah, that was it. I wanted pink shadows.” High-res

Here is my shot for the Moon Animate Make-Up! project (moonanimate)

Due to the camera flashes, I didn’t want to add too many frames of animation - it was starting to look really hectic. In fact, I had more frames, for Mars and Jupiter in particular, but I pulled them near the end because it was just too much to look at!

I wanted to go for a serious style - the sort of thing I want to see from the new show! But at the same time, I couldn’t help but add in some silliness.

I’ve only ever done clean-up animation for a now-defunct iPhone game, so this was a new experience for me. Doing everything from start to finish was a lot of work, and I didn’t have a lot of time to spend on this, so I knocked it out in three days, and now I have to move on now. Ideally, I would have liked the motion of Venus’ hair to be even more dramatic, but oh well…!

I created this as part of another drawing, I needed an image of what could be considered a fantasy/experimental jet for the background.

If I was seriously designing a jet as mechanical design, there’s a bunch of things I would change to increase viability, but I didn’t want to spend too much time on it, given I’m sort of using it like clip art XD

Here are also some WIP!
